Mirza Abbas, political adviser to prime minister Tarique Rahman and MP for Dhaka-8, has been admitted to Singapore General Hospital for advanced medical treatment.
As of Sunday evening, hospital specialists have conducted several examinations to assess his condition.
Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP media cell, confirmed that Mirza Abbas’s condition remains stable.
Earlier, at around 11:30 AM, an air ambulance departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport carrying Mirza Abbas, his wife Afroza Abbas, his son Yasir Abbas and Dr. Zafar Iqbal from Evercare Hospital.
Mirza Abbas had fallen ill and lost consciousness during iftar last Wednesday.
He was initially admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, where a medical board of neuro-specialists oversaw his treatment.
While under observation at Evercare, he underwent brain surgery and received intensive post-operative care before being transferred to Singapore for further treatment.
