Police arrested two alleged members of a criminal gang along with firearms in capital's Khilgaon area on Sunday morning.
The arrested were identified as Md Safayet Hossain alias Sentu 44 and Md Sabuj alias Imon, 25.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in Shekher Jaiga area under Khilgaon police station and arrested the duo.
Police also recovered a foreign-made pistol, four round of bullets, a magazine and a private car during the drive.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the detention and said that a case has been filed against the accused under the Arms Act with Khilgaon Police Station.
Police records show that Safayet has four previous cases against him, including charges of murder, arms and narcotics, while Sabuj faces two cases related to robbery and theft.
