DU imposes 72-hr file submission deadline

Dhaka University (DU) has instructed all offices to submit official files to senior authorities within three working days, aiming to improve efficiency and streamline administrative processes.

The directive was issued under Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam and communicated through a press release on Wednesday by Rafiqul Islam Panna, acting director of Public Relations Office. 

It has been circulated to all offices, departments, institutes and residential halls of the university.

According to the order, employees must present any pending notes or documents to their superiors within a 72-hour window. 

In addition, officers and staff are required to remain present in their respective offices during designated working hours. Prior approval from the competent authority is now mandatory for any leave.

The press release noted that the measure is intended to enhance accountability and efficiency in the university’s daily operations. 

The announcement forms part of broader efforts to strengthen administrative discipline across the institution.
