Dear Sir,
A transparent and equitable healthcare system is a cornerstone of a welfare state. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability and the violation of patient rights in our healthcare sector have become deeply concerning. From government hospitals in rural areas to high-end private clinics in cities, patients frequently face neglect, misinformation, and financial exploitation.
Patients have fundamental rights, including accurate diagnosis, timely treatment, and clear information about medical expenses. However, many are burdened with unnecessary tests, prolonged prescriptions, and hidden costs that push families into financial hardship. In public hospitals, limited resources, bed shortages, and the influence of middlemen deprive ordinary citizens of basic care. Meanwhile, private healthcare facilities often impose excessive fees without effective regulatory oversight.
To address this situation, transparency must be ensured at all levels. Hospitals should publicly display service charges, and strict accountability mechanisms must be enforced to address medical negligence. Regular monitoring, including mobile court operations and stronger administrative supervision, is essential to eliminate unethical practices in diagnostic and treatment services.
Healthcare is not a privilege but a constitutional right. A coordinated effort from authorities and citizens is necessary to restore trust and fairness in the system.
