15 injured in Feni bus-truck collision

At least 15 individuals were injured when a passenger bus collided with a sand-laden truck on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Feni district on Friday afternoon.

The injured include Md Arif, 37, his wife Minu, 25 and Sohag, 48, all residents of Noakhali.

According to locals, the incident occurred in Silonia area when a Chattogram-bound Dider Paribahan bus reportedly lost control and crashed into the rear of the truck. The collision left the bus badly mangled, injuring the driver, helper and several passengers.

Later, four injured were treated at Royal Hospital in Feni town, while two others received treatment at Feni General Hospital. The remaining victims were given initial treatment at nearby clinics and pharmacies.

Confirming the incident, Mohipal Highway Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Asaduzzaman said that police reached the scene promptly and restored traffic movement.

He added that the bus driver and helper fled the scene after the crash and the vehicle has been taken into police custody.
