BARAIGRAM, NATORE, Mar 30: Five people were injured in a violent clash at a filling station in Baraigram  Upazila of Natore District on Friday night. The incident took place at Messrs Madina Filling Station on the Bonpara bypass after a dispute over fuel distribution escalated.

Witnesses said customers had gathered at the station late in the evening to purchase fuel. After waiting for a long time, arguments broke out over the order of service. The quarrel quickly turned into a physical confrontation among motorcyclists and other buyers.

Those injured were identified as Akkas Ali (50) of Kumrul Village, Firoz Hossain (24) and Alomgir Hossain (30) of Mohishbhanga Village, and Munnaf Hossain (26) of Kalikapur Village. Four were admitted to Baraigram  Upazila Health Complex, while another received treatment locally.

Police said they were aware of the incident but had not received a formal complaint. Officer-in-Charge Abdus Salam stated that action would be taken if a written allegation was filed.

Locals say fuel shortages have heightened tensions, with minor disputes often spiralling into violence.
