Country’s point-to-point general inflation declined to 8.71 percent in March 2026, down from 9.13 percent in February, according to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

The data shows that the overall drop was mainly driven by a decrease in food inflation, which fell to 8.24 percent in March from 9.30 percent in the previous month. In contrast, non-food inflation edged up slightly to 9.09 percent from 9.01 percent.

Both rural and urban areas recorded modest declines in overall inflation during the month.
