Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman on Sunday directed party members across the country to work alongside local administration and law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and stability, warning against any attempts to take justice into their own hands.

The remarks were made during a meeting with district-level BNP leaders and activists from Bogura at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, held following the oath-taking ceremony of two newly elected Members of Parliament representing Bogura-6 and Sherpur-3 constituencies.

Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman confirmed the details of the address.

Tarique Rahman stressed that sustaining order and tranquility in local communities is a shared responsibility that party members must actively embrace. He instructed them to report any individuals or groups engaged in activities that threaten peace directly to law enforcement rather than responding through personal or collective action.

"If anyone engages in activities that disrupt peace, it is your responsibility to inform the law enforcement agencies. Do not take the law into your own hands," he told the gathering.

The PM further underscored that local development initiatives and the maintenance of law and order must proceed without interruption under any circumstances, framing both as equally essential pillars of national progress.
