Sailor has launched its latest Boishakhi Collection, offering a vibrant fusion of Bengali heritage and contemporary fashion to mark the festive season.
The new collection introduces, for the first time, a wide range of apparel including sarees, two-piece and three-piece sets, kurtis, long tops, along with kidswear and coordinated family outfits.
Designed to reflect the spirit of celebration, the collection features traditional fabrics such as half silk, slab half silk, cotton kota and organza.
For added comfort during the summer season, lightweight materials like rayon, voile, and jacquard have also been used. While the classic Boishakhi red and white palette remains central, the collection also includes shades of pink, blue, green, and multicolored tie-dye designs.
The designs are inspired by traditional motifs such as Nakshi Kantha, geometric patterns, and woodcraft, reinterpreted with a modern aesthetic. Contemporary silhouettes; including straight-cut designs with flare, short tops paired with palazzos and fusion styles featuring dhoti and tie-dye elements"aim to appeal to younger consumers.
The outfits are further enhanced with decorative details such as screen prints, digital prints, glass work, tassels, hand stitching, sequins, and embroidery. Coordinated accessories including bangles, necklaces, earrings, footwear, and bags complete the festive look.
The men’s collection includes panjabis, casual shirts and ethnic shirts made from lightweight voile and rayon poplin fabrics. The panjabis feature Santarangi-inspired motifs from Rangpur, along with geometric and tribal patterns, while shorter cuts reflect modern fashion trends.
The shirts come in Cuban and Mandarin collar styles, with vibrant prints suitable for both traditional and fusion wear.
For children, the collection emphasizes comfort and breathability using soft cotton and rayon fabrics. It includes frocks, skirt tops, t-shirts, casual tops, and denim outfits designed for long festive outings.
Special highlights of the collection include mother-daughter matching sarees, coordinated kids’ panjabis and sarees, and full-family matching sets.
