Banks, insurance companies and the country's two stock exchanges are set to resume normal operations on Monday (June 1) after a seven-day closure for Eid-ul-Azha.

The information was confirmed by sources at Bangladesh Bank, the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) and the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges.

According to the schedule, banking transactions for customers will be conducted from 10 AM to 3 PM, while overall banking operations will continue until 5 PM, as on regular working days.

Insurance companies will also resume normal activities, operating from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Meanwhile, trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will restart from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. Office activities at both bourses will continue from 9 AM to 4 PM.

All scheduled banks, insurance companies and stock markets remained closed from May 25 to May 31 due to the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

Earlier, the government had declared a seven-day holiday through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration to mark the holy festival, which was celebrated across the country on May 28.

With the holiday period ending, financial institutions and capital market activities will return to normal from Monday.
