National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for submitting income tax returns for corporate taxpayers by one month.

In an order issued on Monday, the authority announced that taxpayers other than individuals can now file their returns for the 2025"2026 tax year until May 15, 2026. Previously, the deadline was set for April 15.

The extension applies to all entities whose income year concluded on June 30, 2025.

The order was issued under Section 334 (clause b) of the Income Tax Act, 2023, which allows NBR to revise deadlines when necessary for effective tax administration.

With this decision, businesses and other eligible organizations have been given additional time to complete and submit their returns.

According to NBR, the move is part of its broader efforts to streamline tax procedures and encourage smoother participation in the tax system.
