State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad on Sunday alleged that the opposition is spreading “misleading narratives” regarding the July Charter, asserting that the government remains committed to implementing it in full.

Speaking at a views-exchange meeting with journalists at Panchagarh Press Club, the state minister said that prime minister had clearly pledged to implement “every word and every provision” of the July Charter.

He also described the current administration as a democratic government formed through a free, fair and neutral election with active public participation.

“Our party secured a clear mandate from the people, receiving over 51 percent direct support in the election,” he said, adding that the government is working to implement its electoral pledges in line with that mandate.

The meeting was chaired by Press Club President Mosharraf Hossain and moderated by its General Secretary Sarkar Haidar. Among others present were BNP central committee member Belal Hossain, public prosecutor Advocate Adam Sufi, Government Pleader Abdul Bari, district Jubo Dal General Secretary Nuruzzaman Babu and local journalists and party leaders.
