Bashundhara Sports City staged an international combat sports event on Saturday night, as Tanvir Bashundhara Group (TBG) rolled out the canvas for a 12-bout fight card at the Zulcan Indoor Arena.

The evening was formally inaugurated by TBG Managing Director Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan, with Safwan Bashundhara Global Chairman Safwan Sobhan, Vice Chairman Yeasha Sobhan, and Group Vice Chairman Aemil Ahmed Sobhan was present in the gallery, lending corporate gravitas to a night that blended athletic intensity with strategic vision.

Fighters from Bangladesh, Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore locked horns across Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and boxing disciplines, each bout unfolding like a tactical chess match in a ring of fire. The event spotlighted 24 emerging fighters, signalling a calculated investment in grassroots talent and international exposure. Bangladesh's prospects largely held their own on home soil. Yahasan Hasin opened the card with a confident victory over Azizul Sarker, while Imon Tonchangya and Hussain Ahmed secured notable wins against foreign opponents. Manjoor Alam and Mohamed Rashed further reinforced the hosts' dominance with composed performances.

In women's boxing, Sanjida Jannat delivered a standout display, overcoming Thailand's Pornpimon Pongpaew with precision and poise. Officials and sporting stakeholders underscored the event's strategic value, noting that such initiatives serve as a springboard to popularise combat sports in Bangladesh, inspire youth participation, and position local fighters on an international platform.
