Algeria Ambassador to Bangladesh, Abdelouahab Saidani, has visited Rangpur as part of a broader diplomatic outreach programme aimed at building closer ties with regions and districts beyond the capital, the Algerian Embassy in Dhaka said.
The two-day visit on April 19 and 20 came at the invitation of the Aristocrat Group and the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce, and focused on identifying concrete opportunities for business and investment cooperation between Algeria and northern Bangladesh.
During the visit, Ambassador Saidani toured various operational units of the Aristocrat Group and held working sessions with the conglomerate's Managing Director and senior staff to discuss potential areas of bilateral engagement.
He also met with prominent business leaders at the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce, where discussions centred on trade prospects and investment opportunities available in both Algeria and the Rangpur region.
The visit is part of a structured action plan by the Algerian Embassy in Dhaka to engage systematically with business communities and regional stakeholders across Bangladesh, moving beyond the traditional focus on capital-based diplomacy to foster grassroots economic and commercial relationships.
