
The District Correspondents' Conference 2026 of The Daily Observer was held in a festive atmosphere at the newspaper's conference room in the capital's Motijheel area on Saturday.
Around 50 correspondents representing 64 districts attended the event, where they shared views and professional experiences on grassroots reporting and the challenges of district-level journalism.
Editor of The Daily Observer Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury presided over the programme. In his address, he appreciated the correspondents for their dedication and provided professional guidelines aimed at strengthening field reporting and maintaining journalistic standards.
The conference also paid tribute to two recently deceased members of the Daily Observer family - Naogaon Correspondent Obaidul Haque and Graphic Designer Habibur Rahman Milon.
At the programme, the Editor announced a Tk 50,000 financial assistance for the medical treatment of Barishal Correspondent Ismail Hossain Negaban, who is currently undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Medical University.
