Journo Abdal named PIO

Journalist Syed Abdal Ahmed has been appointed as the Chief Information Officer (PIO) of the Directorate of Information. He has been appointed on a contract basis for one year in Grade-1, a notification was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday.

It said that he has been appointed on the condition that he renounces any other profession, business or employment relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution/organization. His appointment will be effective from the date of joining.

The notification said that other terms of appointment will be determined in the contract.

Syed Abdal Ahmed is currently the executive editor of the daily Amar Desh. He is the general secretary of the National Press Club for two terms.
