Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) cut gold prices by up to Tk2,216 per bhori, bringing the rate of 22-carat gold down to around Tk242,000 per bhori from Tk244,710.
In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, BAJUS said the revised prices came into effect from 10:00 AM.
According to the new rates, 22-carat gold is now priced at Tk242,495 per bhori.
Meanwhile, 21-carat gold stands at Tk231,472 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk198,405 per bhori and traditional gold at Tk161,605 per bhori.
BAJUS explained that the latest price adjustment follows a decline in the cost of refined (pure) gold in both international and domestic markets.
Silver prices, however, remain unchanged.
