17 senior police officers sent to forced retirement

A total of 17 senior police officials including 16 Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of police were sent into forced retirement on Sunday. 

According to a notification signed by the Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Manzur Morshed Chowdhury, the government sent them on retirement under section 45 of the Government Service Rule-2018 for the interest of the public.

Those who were given retirement are - DIG of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, DIG Highway Police Imtiaz Ahmed, DIG Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Md Habibur Rahman, DIG attached with police headquarters Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, DIG, at present Director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI)Md Harun-or-Rashid, DIG Police Staff College S M Akhteruzzaman, DIG, at present Commandant Police Training Centre (PTC) Noakhali Md Haidar Ali Khan, DIG, at present Commandant PTC, Khulna, Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, DIG Tourist Police Md Ruhul Amin, DIG Highway Police Md Rafiqul Hassan Gani, DIG River Police Md Mizanur Rahman, Commissioner (DIG) Rangpur Metropolitan Police Md Mazid Ali, DIG Police Headquarters Kazi Zia Uddin, DIG Railway Police Md Golam Raufe Khan, Commandant (DIG) PTC Rangpur Sheikh Mohammad Rezaul Haidar, DIG Highway Police Rakhfar Sultana and Additional DIG of Railway Police Farhat Ahmed.  The notification said that they will get their retirement benefits as per law.
