NAWABGANJ, DINAJPUR, May 4: Social Welfare Minister Dr AZM Zahid Hossain has said the government is committed to ensuring inclusive development for all citizens, regardless of their political affiliation or religious identity.
"We want development for everyone. It does not matter who voted for whom. Whether Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Jamaat, BNP or Awami League-development is for all," he said.
The minister emphasised that the government's goal is to build a self-reliant population where every individual can contribute as a responsible citizen. He noted that no one would be left behind in the country's development journey, as policies are being designed to reach people across all segments of society.
Dr Zahid also highlighted the government's ongoing initiatives aimed at ensuring inclusiveness in welfare distribution. He said programmes like the Family Card have already been made universal, and similar steps will be taken to ensure broader access in the agricultural card system. The workshop focused on promoting water-saving irrigation technologies and maintaining the quality of crops produced under polythene shed cultivation.
He underscored the importance of modern agricultural practices in boosting productivity and conserving resources, adding that the government is prioritising innovation to strengthen the country's food security.
