
The day-long Startup Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing programme was held in districts on Friday putting emphasis on Innovative thinking and dreams of building a technology-based future.
RAJBARI: The programme, jointly organised by the Rajbari Sadar Upazila Administration and the Upazila Secondary Education Office, and in collaboration with the Educational Excellence Support Scheme (EESS), was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nirupama Roy chaired the programme while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Afroza Parvin was present as the chief guest. District Education Officer Md Abdul Majid, President of District Teachers and Employees Welfare Association Gazi Ahsan Habib, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Kazi Ejaz Kaiser, and various officials of the Department of Education, teachers, students and guardians were present.

A total of 21 schools, colleges and madrasas of the upazila participated in the programme where students presented their invented science-based projects, technology-based solutions and various innovative ideas. Guests visited each stall and praised the innovative thinking and research work of the students.
In the speech of the chief guest, DC Afroza Parvin said, “There is no alternative to science and technology-based education to survive in the current world. Students should not be limited to textbooks but should be enthusiastic about acquiring practical knowledge and new innovations. Such an event is very important for their intellectual development.”
In his speech, UNO Nirupama Roy said that the upazila administration will always play a supportive role in developing the creativity and innovative abilities of students.
At the end of the exhibition, prizes were distributed among the students who presented the best projects and innovative ideas based on the evaluation of the judges.
BARAIGRAM, NATORE: The EESS organised the programme to develop innovative thinking, scientific practice and entrepreneurial spirit of students.
In this programme organised with the participation of students and teachers of classes VI to XII at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on Friday, UNO Laila Jannatul Ferdous chaired the programme and Upazila Academic Supervisor Moniruzzaman moderated the programme. Baraigram Government Honours College Principal Professor Md Abdul Matin, AC (Land) Zubair Jahangir, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sajeeb Al Maruf and Social Service Officer Rezaul Karim spoke.
Innovative stalls with the participation of teachers and students of 21 educational institutions of the upazila have been set up. Later, the guests handed over crests and certificates to the three winning teams in the exhibition.
DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA: To mark the programme, an award distribution ceremony under the initiative of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) of the Ministry of Education and Daulatpur Upazila Administration was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium.
The event was organised under the chairmanship of UNO Anindya Guha and was attended as the chief guest by MP of Daulatpur Alhaj Golam Mostafa, District Education Officer Abu Tayyab Md Yunus Ali, Upazila Secondary Supervisor Md Kamal Hossain, Head Teacher Md Yakub Ali, Md Sanaul Haque (Sentu), Md Abul Kalam Azad, Abdul Alim Tom, etc. At the end, three schools including Pakuria and BDS Secondary Schools were awarded at the fair.
DHAMOIRHAT, NAOGAON: The programme was held in Dhamoirhat Upazila of the district.
UNO Prashanta Chakraborty inaugurated the exhibition organised by EESS and SEDP at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on Friday morning.
District Secondary Education Officer Md Shahadat Hossain, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Sheikh Abdullah Al Mamun, Academic Supervisor Abdul Mannan, along with head teachers and assistant teachers of various educational institutions were present at the time. Ten secondary schools, two madrasas and a college participated in the exhibition.
FAKIRHAT, BAGERHAT: The programme was held at the Fakirhat Upazila Parishad auditorium.
UNO Md Roknuz Zaman was the chief guest at the programme. Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md Golam Mostafa chaired the event. AC (Land) Md Sharif Newaz, Assistant Programmer Md Alamgir Hossain, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Tahira Khatun, Principal Md Mizanur Rahman, teacher Deb Prasad Mandal, student Sanjida Haque Manni also spoke. Upazila Secondary Academic Supervisor Asaduzzaman moderated the event.
After the discussion, the officials visited the stalls of students from various educational institutions. At the end, certificates and crests were distributed among the winners.
At that time, the speakers said that in order for the youth to establish themselves as scientific-minded, creative and enterprising in the modern era, investment in education should be increased. Increasing opportunities for research and innovation will create human resources in the country instead of educated unemployed people.
KALIGANJ, GAZIPUR: The programme was held on the Upazila Parishad premises on Friday afternoon.
Gazipur-5 (Kaliganj) Constituency MP A K M Fazlul Haque Milon was present as the chief guest at the programme.
He said, “Smart and prosperous Bangladesh will be built through the combination of talent, science and innovation.
Such events play an important role in encouraging the creative thinking and research activities of the youth.”
UNO A T M Kamrul Islam chaired the programme. Organised in collaboration with the EESS, SEDP and the DSHE, the participants got the opportunity to showcase their creativity and innovative capabilities.
Among others, AC (Land) Zakia Sarwar Lima, Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station Md Zakir Hossain, heads of various departments of the upazila and leaders of local BNP, its organs and associate organisations were present at the time.
PAIKGACHA, KHULNA: Khulna-6 Constituency MP Alhaj Mawlana Abul Kalam Azad said that in order to take the country forward in the global competition, more importance should be given to science and technical education along with general education.
“Our youth have indomitable talent. To utilize this talent, we should provide them with a conducive environment and opportunities for technology-friendly education. Then, today's youth will be scientists and entrepreneurs in the future. For this, I call on the young generation to be technologically skilled. Instead of just chasing jobs, the youth should become entrepreneurs so that they can create employment themselves,” he also said.
He said these as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Startup Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing Programme at the Paikgachha Government Girls’ High School auditorium on Friday morning. EESS and DSHE organised the programme.
UNO Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury chaired the programme, and Upazila Secondary Education Officer Roksana Parveen delivered the welcome speech. Paikgacha Government College Principal Professor Samaresh Roy, AC (Land) Md Fazle Rabbi, Head Teacher Abdul Wahab, Upazila ICT Officer Abdus Samad, Academic Supervisor Mir Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui were the special guests.
After the inauguration ceremony, MP Abul Kalam Azad and other guests visited various stalls of the innovative exhibition of young students from 13 educational institutions. After the ceremony, the Innovative Meritorious Student Award and the Meritorious Teacher Award for Good Education were presented.
SAPAHAR, NAOGAON: Organised by the EESS and SEDP of DSHE and implemented by the upazila administration and Upazila Secondary Education Office, a fair was inaugurated at 10:30 am on Friday at the Upazila Parishad Hall Room.
MP for Naogaon-1 Constituency Mostafizur Rahman joined the virtual inauguration of the fair as the chief guest. UNO Romana Riaz chaired the event.
The chief guest said, “To build a smart Bangladesh, the new generation must be science-minded. The latent talent among our students is being revealed through this fair.”
The event was attended by Upazila BNP General Secretary Sarwar Jahan Chowdhury (Labu), Upazila Secondary Education Officer Shamsul Kabir, Sapahar Government Degree College Chemistry Department Lecturer SM Sarwar, Academy Supervisor Nazma Akhter, former head teacher Lutfar Rahman, Upazila Secondary Teachers’ Association President Rezaul Karim, Shiranti Maina Kuri High School Head Teacher Mizanur Rahman, Pilot High School Assistant Head Teacher Nurul Islam and others.
Young scientists from various schools and colleges in the upazila have set up stalls with their invented projects. Finally, prizes were distributed among the participating young scientists in various categories.
