Workshops on village court held at Kawkhali, Kaliganj

Separate workshops on village court have been organised at Kawkhali Upazila of Pirojpur District and Kaliganj Upazila of Gazipur District.

KAWKHALI, PIROJPUR: The Kawkhali Upazila Administration organised a workshop on integrated planning to increase public awareness about village courts under the Bangladesh Village Court Activation (Phase III) project at the Upazila Parishad Conference Room on Thursday morning.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Asaduzzaman was present as the chief guest at the workshop. In his speech, he said that the village court is an effective system to provide judicial services to the doorsteps of the rural people quickly, easily and at low cost. Everyone should work together to increase awareness among the general public about the activities of this court.

Officer-in-Charge of Kawkhali Police Station Md Anwar Hossain, Upazila Social Service Officer Matiur Rahman and Upazila Youth Development Officer Amal Chandra Shil spoke on the occasion. Parveen Akhter, coordinator of the Village Court Kawkhali Upazila branch, moderated the workshop. 

KALIGANJ, GAZIPUR: A workshop organised by the Bangladesh Village Court Activation (Phase III) Project, with the participation of local government and private organisations to increase public awareness about village courts, was held at the Kaliganj Upazila Parishad Conference Room of the district on Tuesday morning.

The Local Government Department is implementing the project in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and under the management of the upazila administration.

UNO ATM Kamrul Islam was present as the chief guest at the workshop while Coordinator of the Kaliganj Upazila Village Court Ruby Akhter conducted it.
