Anti-liberation forces will never seize power again: Ishraque 

MUNSHIGANJ: State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain has declared a firm stance against anti-liberation and fascist forces.

Speaking at a views-exchange meeting with freedom fighters at the Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner (DC)'s office on Wednesday afternoon, he said that a fascist government had destroyed the country's democratic structure for a long time and taken away people's rights. He also alleged that by seizing power through fake elections, they had created corruption, looting and social decay in various sectors of the state.

The state minister said that a self-interested group had tried to legitimise their wrongdoings by using the spirit of the Liberation War and pushed the country towards division. As a result, moral decay, greed and criminal tendencies have increased in society.

He further said that the descendants of those who opposed Bangladesh's independence in 1971, those who were involved in killings, disappearances, murders and torture as collaborators of the Pakistani occupation forces, are still engaged in various anti-state conspiracies.

The meeting was chaired by Acting DC Mousumi Mahbub. Special guests included Md. Kamruzzaman Ratan, MP, Superintendent of Police Md. Menhazul Alam, Administrator of the District Council AKM Iradat Manu, and Convener of the District Freedom Fighters Command Council Mohsin Mia, among others.
Earlier, the state minister also took part in a views-exchange meeting with freedom fighters in Gazaria Upazila.
