The government has urged Bangladeshi pilgrims to obtain Hajj permits only through authorised and official channels, following guidance issued by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

According to a PID handout released on Friday, the Saudi ministry advised pilgrims to follow approved procedures and comply with all Hajj-related rules and instructions to ensure smooth management of pilgrimage services.

The ministry said that a Hajj visa is the only valid visa that permits a person to perform Hajj and stressed that all permits must be processed through official channels in accordance with authorised regulations.

It noted that proper compliance with permit requirements allows pilgrims to benefit fully from the services provided at the holy sites while also supporting safety and crowd management measures during the pilgrimage.

The ministry also cautioned pilgrims against using unofficial channels or responding to fraudulent offers claiming to provide unauthorised Hajj permits or visas.

Such illegal arrangements could prevent individuals from performing Hajj rituals and may also lead to legal consequences, the ministry warned.

Officials said obtaining permits through approved procedures is essential to ensuring a safe, organised and hassle-free pilgrimage experience.
