The country recorded 11 more deaths from measles and its suspected symptoms in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 409 since mid-March, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In its latest bulletin issued on Sunday, the DGHS said four of the deaths were laboratory-confirmed measles cases, while the remaining seven were classified as deaths linked to measles symptoms.

The data covers the 24-hour period from 8:00 AM Saturday to 8:00 AM Sunday.

With the latest update, the total number of confirmed measles deaths since March 15 stands at 65, while 344 deaths have been recorded from suspected cases. The DGHS noted that the earlier figure of 352 has been revised following data reconciliation, resulting in an additional 57 deaths being updated in the records.

The health authority said the adjustment was made after coordinating data from Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal with respective civil surgeon offices.

During the same 24-hour period, 1,503 suspected measles cases were reported, taking the total number of suspected infections since March 15 to 49,159.

So far, 6,819 cases have been laboratory-confirmed as measles infections. In addition, 34,909 patients have been admitted to hospitals with symptoms, while 30,862 have recovered and been discharged.

Health officials said the outbreak continues to place pressure on healthcare facilities across the country as monitoring and reporting efforts are being intensified.
