Over 52,000 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims reach Saudi Arabia

More than 52,000 Bangladeshi pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year, according to the latest Hajj bulletin released at 2:59 AM on Tuesday.

A total of 52,334 pilgrims travelled to the kingdom on 134 flights operated under both government and private management systems.

Data from the Hajj help desk showed that 25,073 pilgrims travelled on 63 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines. 

Meanwhile, 18,402 pilgrims arrived on 49 flights operated by Saudi Airlines and another 8,889 pilgrims travelled on 22 flights operated by Flynas.

Among the total pilgrims, 4,071 performed Hajj under the government management scheme, while 48,263 travelled through private arrangements.

This year, Bangladesh has been allocated a Hajj quota of 78,500 pilgrims. A total of 660 agencies are involved in Hajj management operations, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies.
