Alamdanga, Jibannagar emerge champions

Alamdanga Adarsha Government Primary School clinched the boys' title, while Jibannagar Purba Chakla Government Primary School emerged champions in the girls' category of the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament held in Chuadanga on Tuesday.

The finals were held at the old stadium in Chuadanga. After the matches, prizes were distributed among the champion and runners-up teams by Lutfun Nahar, Deputy Commissioner of Chuadanga.

In the girls' final, Jibannagar Purba Chakla Government Primary School defeated Chuadanga Angikar Government Primary School 1-0 to lift the title.

Later, in the boys' final, Chuadanga Puspakannan Government Primary School faced Alamdanga Adarsha Government Primary School in a closely contested match. Alamdanga Adarsha eventually secured a 1-0 victory in the tie-breaker to become champions.

Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony presided over by District Primary Education Officer Ahindra Kumar Mondal, Deputy Commissioner Lutfun Nahar said sports and life go hand in hand and success does not always come instantly. She also encouraged the young players to maintain their competitive spirit, confidence and creativity in every stage of life. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of trophies and awards amid enthusiasm and celebration.    "BSS
