53,410 Bangladeshi pilgrims reach Saudi Arabia for Hajj

A total of 53,410 Bangladeshi pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year as of 2:59 AM on Wednesday, according to the latest Hajj bulletin.

The pilgrims travelled on 137 flights operated under both government and private management schemes.

Data from the Hajj help desk showed that 25,891 pilgrims arrived on 65 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Saudi Airlines transported 18,660 pilgrims on 50 flights, while 8,889 pilgrims travelled on 22 flights operated by Flynas.

Of the total number of pilgrims, 4,071 performed Hajj under the government management scheme, while 49,339 travelled through private arrangements.

Bangladesh has been allocated a Hajj quota of 78,500 pilgrims this year. A total of 660 agencies are involved in Hajj management, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies.

Subject to moon sighting, Hajj is expected to be observed on 26 May this year.

Return flights from Jeddah are scheduled to begin on 30 May and continue throughout June, with the final flight expected to arrive on 30 June.
