Three persons killed in three dists

Three persons were killed in separate incidents in Bagerhat, Barguna and Sunamganj districts on Wednesday and Thursday.

BAGERHAT: A cousin, Ammar Sheikh, 19, was stabbed to death by his cousin Ali Abdullah, 23, over a family dispute in the Basabati Banebari area of Bagerhat Town. Later, police arrested him with a blood-stained knife on Thursday night. 

Arrested Ali Abdullah is the son of Tarek Hawlader of Sahapara area of the town. The deceased Ammar was the son of HM Taslim Mahmud of Kadamtala area of Pirojpur. Ammar and his mother Mahfuza Khatun were living in his maternal grandfather Hatem Ali's house in the Basabati Banebari area. 

Bagerhat Sadar Model Police Station (PS) Police Inspector (Investigation) Shahidul Islam, quoting the family, said that on Thursday evening, Abdullah came to the house. After dinner at night, the two cousins had an argument. At one point, Ali stabbed Ammar with a knife. Later, family members took him to the Bagerhat 250-bed District Hospital, where he was declared dead. There were stab wounds in various parts of his body. The police recovered the body on Friday afternoon and handed it over to the family after an autopsy at the Bagerhat 250-bed District Hospital morgue.

AMTALI, BARGUNA: Miscreants hacked a man to death in the Khuriar Kheyaghat area of Amtali Upazila of the district early Thursday. 

The deceased Md Monowar Hossain, 45, was the son of Md Joynal Mridha, a resident of Dakkhin Amtali area in the upazila.

According to Amtali PS and local sources, local people found Monowar Hossain lying in a bloody state on a canal bank near Md Shamsul Haque's house on the west side of Khuriar Kheyaghat Bridge in Amtali Sadar Union. Later, he was taken to the Amtali Upazila Health Complex where he died after some times.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Amtali PS Abu Hasnain Parvez said that the police operation is continuing to identify those involved in the murder and arrest them.

DERAI, SUNAMGANJ: A youth named Ratan Mia, 27, who was seriously injured in a clash over dominance between the local BNP and Awami League in Alinagar Village of Bhatipara Union in Derai Upazila of the district on Tuesday evening, died at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital on Wednesday morning. 

According to local sources, the clash happened between the Union BNP General Secretary (GS) and UP Member Shahdwip's people and those of the Ward No. 2 Juba League GS Abdul Muhith and Rafiq Mia.
 
Among at least 40 injured, Al Amin, 26, Ratan Mia, 27, and Sonai Mia, 75, were first taken to the Derai Upazila Health Complex. Later, they were referred to Sylhet Hospital where Ratan Mia died while undergoing treatment.

Derai PS OC Enamul Haque Chowdhury said that no case has been filed in this connection and no one has been arrested so far.
