KCC to address civic problems: Manju

KHULNA, June 23: KCC Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju said he regularly seeks information about problems faced by residents in different wards and is committed to reducing public sufferings to the best of his ability.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest in an annual consultation meeting organised by the Community Forum Project of Adams Foundation held at Shaheed Altaf Hossain Auditorium of the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) on Tuesday. 

The KCC administrator added that the project aims to create a platform for underprivileged low-income people and local residents to enhance their awareness, skills, rights and responsibilities through training and capacity-building initiatives, particularly in socio-economic development. The meeting was arranged to strengthen cooperation between the City Corporation and local government institutions in ensuring service delivery, citizens’ rights and accountability. It also discussed ways to incorporate development priorities and ward-level problems into the annual budget of the KCC.

Councillors from 24 wards under the project area, senior KCC officials and members of the Community Forum’s central committee attended the meeting.

KCC’s Chief Executive Officer Razib Ahmed and Executive Director of Adams Foundation S M Ali Aslam spoke as the special guests while Secretary General of Central Community Forum H M Abu Salek presided over the meeting.

Presidents and general secretaries of Community Forums from different wards of the city, along with officials and staff members of various projects of Adams Foundation, were also present at the meeting.
