KHULNA, May 16: Construction works of a waste treatment facility titled 'Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility' at Sholua under Khulna City Corporation (KCC) and the KUET approach road are progressing fast under the City Region Development Project (CRDP-2) with the support of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).
The information was disclosed at a progress review meeting of the ongoing works under the CRDP-2 held at the GIZ auditorium of Nagar Bhaban on Saturday.
The meeting informed that the progress of the compost plant reached 91 pc, Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and plastic recycling plant 92 pc, biogas plant and shed building 60 pc, workshop, pump room, motor room and underground reservoir around 71 pc, substation and generator room around 86 pc and gas balloon building around 91 pc. The progress of the KUET approach road reached 61 pc.
KCC Administrator Nazrul Islam Monju presided over the meeting. Expressing satisfaction over the works, Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju urged to complete construction works before the upcoming monsoon.
