Bus-ambulance collision kills 2 in Narail

NARAIL, June 3: A woman and an ambulance driver were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between an ambulance and a bus on the Narail-Kalna highway in the Badshah Garage area of the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were Jahanara Begum, 55, wife of Ismail Hossain of Mahidia Village in Jashore District and ambulance driver Akbar Hossain, 32, son of A Hashem of Purba Chakkalapota Village in Laxmipur District.

Jahanara Begum was taking the body of her late husband from Dhaka's Rajarbagh Police Hospital to her house. When they reached Badshah Garage area of Narail on at 9:30 am, their ambulance collided head-on with a Kalna-bound passenger bus, leaving Jahanara dead on the spot and five others injured. 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station Ajay Kumar Kundu confirmed the incident.
