MASTUL Foundation, one of the country’s renowned humanitarian and charitable organizations, has officially appointed former Additional Inspector General of Bangladesh Police, Mohammad Matiur Rahman, as an Adviser to the Foundation.
The announcement was recently confirmed through an official declaration.
According to the organization, the extensive administrative expertise and leadership experience of Mohammad Matiur Rahman will further strengthen and accelerate the Foundation’s humanitarian activities. Under his guidance, the organization is expected to add new dimensions to national development initiatives, poverty alleviation, humanitarian assistance, education, healthcare, and disaster management programs.
MASTUL Foundation has long been working alongside underprivileged communities across Bangladesh. Concerned stakeholders believe that the inclusion of the new Adviser will play a significant role in achieving the organization’s mission and expanding the impact of its activities.
The leadership qualities and professional experience of former Additional IGP Mohammad Matiur Rahman have been widely appreciated in various sectors, and it is expected that he will make valuable contributions to the future initiatives and strategic development of MASTUL Foundation.
MASTUL Foundation is a nationally recognized humanitarian and service-oriented organization registered under the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. For more than a decade, the Foundation has been tirelessly working to improve the lives of underprivileged people and children across the country. Among its notable humanitarian initiatives are: providing burial services during the COVID-19 pandemic; distributing emergency relief materials to flood-affected communities during the devastating floods of 2022 and 2024; and delivering humanitarian aid on behalf of the people of Bangladesh to victims of the 2023 Türkiye earthquake, the 2024 humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and the 2025 crisis in Sudan. One of the Foundation’s most impactful initiatives, the “Zakat Self-Reliance” project, has created sustainable employment opportunities for countless disadvantaged individuals and youths, helping them build self-reliant and dignified lives.
In addition, the Foundation has installed tube wells in remote areas across the country, reconstructed mosques, and operates the “Mehmankhana” initiative, which provides free daily meals to underprivileged people in different parts of the capital. Furthermore, in the Barikhali area of Hazaribagh, Dhaka, MASTUL Foundation operates its own madrasa, shelter home, and orphanage, where disadvantaged children are provided with education, shelter, and compassionate care. It is also noteworthy that, under the laws of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), any donation, zakat, or sadaqah provided to MASTUL Foundation is tax-exempt and eligible for income tax rebate benefits for donors.
