A court in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday sentenced four men to death in a case over killing of Bangladesh Army Lt Tanzim Sarwar by a gang of robbers in Chakaria of Cox's Bazar.
At the same time, five others were given life imprisonment, while four received 10 years each.
Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court Judge Abul Mansur Siddiqui issued the order around at noon.
The condemned convicts are Morshed Alam, Md Helal Uddin, Nurul Amin alias Amin and Md Nasir Uddin.
Among them, Morshed Alam remains absconding.
Lieutenant Tanjim Sarwar was killed on September, 24, 2024 after being stabbed by assailants in the East Maizpara area of Dulahazara union in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar. The killing had sparked widespread outrage.
