Yeijer Shoe Parts to produce footwear, accessories in Cumilla EPZ

 
Yeijer Shoe Parts (BD) Ltd., a Samoa-China (Taiwan)-based company, has signed a land lease agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) to set up a footwear and footwear accessories manufacturing facility at Cumilla Export Processing Zone (EPZ). 
The company will invest US$ 5.03 million for the production of insoles, outsoles, midsoles, and PU shoes.
The agreement was signed recently on Wednesday at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka. Md. Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, signed the agreement on behalf of BEPZA, while Xia Ruihong, Managing Director of Yeijer Shoe Parts (BD) Ltd. signed on behalf of the investing company. 
BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, witnessed the signing ceremony, said a press release.
As per the agreement, the company will produce annually 3 million pairs of insole, 1.2 million pairs of outsole, and 3.2 million pairs of midsole and 1 million pairs of PU shoe. The company is expected to create employment opportunities for 500 Bangladeshi nationals.
