In the wake of increasing disabilities worldwide, Bangladesh has presented its special and groundbreaking healthcare model for persons with disabilities, "Shishu Swarga" (Children's Paradise).

State Minister for Health Dr M A Muhit described the model as the outcome of 20 years of research and said it has reduced the average age of disability detection among children from five years to just eight months.

Early identification allows children to receive necessary care from infancy, significantly improving their quality of life at an early stage.

The "Shishu Swarga" model was presented at a high-level side event of the 79th World Health Assembly held at Hotel Royal in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 21, according to a health ministry press release issued on Friday.

The release read that more than 40 representatives from over 30 countries and 20 international organisations attended the meeting. The "Shishu Swarga" model received wide appreciation from panelists and participants alike.
