CHITTAGONG, June 7: Dhaka University (DU) emerged as champions of the Professor Dr Khobir Uddin Ahmed National Moot Court Competition 2026 held at Chittagong University (CU).
The DU team, comprising Jannatul Maowa Suchi, Zaid Ekram and Nafisa Tabassum, clinched the title, while the host university finished as runners-up. The CU team included Mashrura Haque Wafa, Mumtahina Imroz and Sakib Hossain.
North South University won the Best Memorial award, while Leading University was named Best Emerging Team. The Best Oralist award went to Shams Abiruzzaman Shaiyum of Leading University.
The competition was held in four rounds, beginning with preliminary stages on June 5, followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final on June 6.
The prize-giving ceremony was attended by senior members of the judiciary and academia, including Justice Syed Mohammad Tazrul Hossain of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court as chief guest and Justice Rezaul Karim as guest of honour.
CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Al Forkan and other senior university administrators were also present.
The event was presided over by Professor Rokiba Nabi, Chair of the Department of Law at CU and moderator of the Society for Critical Legal Studies.
Special guests included Professor Dr Md Jafar Ullah Talukdar, Dean of the Faculty of Law at CU; Barrister Belayet Hossain, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court; Barrister Shah Muhammad Ejaz Rahman, Senior Advocate and President of the CU LLM Association; and A.B.M. Imdadul Haque Khan, Advocate of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and Dean of the Faculty of Law at Eastern University.
