Octane, petrol, kerosene prices hiked by Tk 5 per litre

The government has increased the prices of octane, petrol and kerosene by Tk 5 per litre on Sunday night through an executive order.

The price of diesel remained unchanged, the order said.

The prices hike were announced in a notification of the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources on Sunday night.

According to the new rates, which came into effect at midnight on Sunday, diesel will cost 
Tk 115 per litre, octane Tk 145 up from 140, petrol Tk 140 up from 135 and kerosene Tk 135 from 130, the order reads.

It said the price has increased in line with the international market.
