Five found dead in three districts

Five persons were found dead in Narayanganj, Rangamati and Barishal districts in three days.

SONARGAON, NARAYANGANJ: Police have recovered the hanging body of a housewife from Bhadurikanda Village of Jampur Union in Sonargaon Upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon. 

Deceased, Trisha, 21, was the daughter of late Nurul Islam of the area. Her husband has been absconding since the incident.

The in-laws claimed that Trisha had committed suicide. Being informed, the police of Sonargaon Taltola Police Investigation Centre recovered the body and sent it to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The deceased's maternal uncle Jamal Hossain claimed that Trisha have not had any children since her marriage with Sohag 6 years ago which led to a dispute. On Sunday, she was strangled to death and her body was hung. 

Sub-Inspector of Sonargaon Taltola Police Investigation Centre said that initially it is believed to be a suicide.

RANGAMATI: The body of a young man, who went missing after drowning in Kaptai Lake on Saturday noon, has been recovered after 6 hours.

Deceased Nabajit Chakma, 19, was the son of Pradeep Chowdhury of Tentultala area in Khagrachhari District.

Locals said that on Saturday noon, 7-8 friends were enjoying a boat ride in Kaptai Lake near Balukhali Union of Rangamati Sadar Upazila. Nabajit went missing while taking a bath there.

Later, locals and the Fire Service team recovered Nabajit's body from the lake around 6 pm.
Assistant Director of Rangamati Fire Service Newton Das said that the body was recovered and handed over to the police.

BARISHAL: Police recovered three bodies, including a father and his son, after they went missing when a passenger boat capsized in the Meghna River during a storm in Barishal's Hizla Upazila.

The deceased were Nur Islam Jomaddar, 45, his son Ibrahim Jomaddar, 12, and Md Harun Biswas, 45.

According to police and local sources, the three went missing on Monday from an engine-run boat carrying eight passengers travelling from Aliganj Ferry Ghat to Dhulkhola Ferry Ghat with government rice that sank during a sudden storm near the Old Hizla Ferry Ghat area of the Meghna River.

Among the deceased, Harun Biswas's body was recovered from the Old Hizla area on Tuesday morning, and the bodies of Nur Islam and Ibrahim were found floating near the Bhasanchar area of Mehendiganj Upazila early Wednesday. 

Hizla River Police Inspector Gautam Chandra Mandal said the bodies were handed over to the victims' families.
