Measles Outbreak

3 more die in a day

Three more children have died of suspected measles cases across Bangladesh in a 24-hour count. During this period, 45 new cases of measles have been confirmed.

The regular measles bulletin for Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday said that 90 people have died of confirmed measles cases across the country since Mar 15. 

In addition, 498 people have died with symptoms consistent with the highly-contagious disease. 

Dhaka Division has seen the most deaths with 200, with Rajshahi in second with 84.

DGHS says that during this period, 1,134 people have gone to hospitals with measles-like symptoms. Of them, 1,016 have been admitted to the hospital.    "bdnews24
