The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the BNP, has announced its 151-member full central executive committee nearly two years after the formation of its partial committee.
The committee, approved on Thursday through a statement signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, includes leaders from the previous committee as well as several former leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.
Reacting to the announcement from Saudi Arabia, Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna expressed his gratitude to Allah and thanked Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, whom he described as “the pride of the youth.”
Speaking to the Daily Observer over the phone, Munna said, “We have tried our best to evaluate and accommodate dedicated and proven leaders in the committee. However, it was not possible to recognize everyone within a 151-member structure. We have thousands of qualified leaders across the country.”
Addressing those who could not secure positions in the new committee, he said, “We are all leaders. Those who could not be included due to limitations will continue to be part of our journey. Together, we will move the organization forward.”
Munna also emphasized the role played by Jubo Dal activists in anti-autocracy movements, saying, “Just as Jubo Dal leaders and activists risked their lives in the struggle against authoritarian rule, everyone must now work with the same commitment to implement the Prime Minister’s slogan, ‘Bangladesh First.’ We must be prepared to make any sacrifice necessary to build a self-reliant and prosperous nation.”
It may be recalled that Jubo Dal’s partial central committee was announced on July 9, 2024. In that committee, Abdul Monayem Munna was named President and Nurul Islam Nayan General Secretary. Other key positions included Rezaul Karim Pol as Senior Vice-President, Billal Hossain Tarek as the No. 1 Joint General Secretary, Kamruzzaman Jewel as Organizing Secretary, and Nurul Islam Sohel as Office Secretary.
The newly announced full committee expands the organization’s leadership structure and incorporates a number of experienced leaders from both Jubo Dal and its student wing, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.
