Fire at Shahjalal airport cargo village; brought under control in 14 minutes

A fire broke out at the Cargo Village complex of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday night. 

The blaze was reported to the Fire Service and Civil Defence at 11:24 PM, with the flames originating near Gate 9 of the facility.

Two firefighting units stationed at the airport responded immediately to the scene. The emergency teams successfully brought the situation under control by 11:38 PM, containing the fire within 14 minutes of the initial report.

No casualties were reported in the incident. 

While the fire sparked brief concerns at the international airport, the cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage are yet to be determined. 

Authorities are expected to launch a formal investigation into the matter.
