Good news for govt employees: New pay scale from July 1

Bringing an end to a long wait, the Finance Minister has announced a new pay structure for government officials and employees.

In his budget speech, he said, ''The same pay structure has remained in force for nearly 11 years. During this period, the cost of living has risen significantly due to inflation. Therefore, a new pay structure will be implemented in phases starting from July 1.''
