Government has reconstituted the executive committee of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust to accelerate and streamline its overall activities.
Ahmed Azam Khan, Liberation War Affairs Minister has been made the president of this newly restructured committee.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs recently issued a gazette notification in this regard under Section 13 of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust Act, 2018.
According to the notification, the reconstituted committee will implement the duties assigned by the Trust Act, rules, and Board of Trustees.
The committee will supervise overall operations, formulate and implement development plans for commercial and industrial enterprises under the trust, monitor ongoing projects, conduct audits, and set future action plans.
Members of the committee include State Minister for Liberation War Affairs and Dhaka-6 MP Ishraak Hossain, Kishoreganj-4 MP Md Fazlur Rahman, Cumilla-6 MP Md Monirul Haque Chowdhury, and Noakhali-2 MP Zainul Abdin Farroque.
Besides, secretaries of the Finance Division, Ministry of Industries, and Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will serve as ex-officio members, while the Managing Director of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust will act as member-secretary.
The government expects the new committee to render the trust's development and welfare activities for freedom fighters more effective and dynamic.
