Gross foreign exchange reserves of Bangladesh have slightly increased to $37.245B whereas the reserves are worth $32.438B following the method of IMF’s BPM6.
As per the data revealed by Bangladesh Bank, gross reserves were reported to be at $37.245B at the close of Tuesday (Aug. 18). Gross reserves stood at $37.066B whereas the BPM6 was $32.260B on Aug. 12.
Gross reserves were $36.96 billion on Aug. 10 and $36.86 billion on Aug. 11.
IMF’s BPM6 method is one of the most accepted methods to measure a country’s foreign exchange reserves that can be used. The net reserves are calculated through BPM6 methodology whereby short term liability is deducted from gross reserves.
The latest figures of the reserves came at a time when Bangladesh Bank is continuing with its efforts to ensure stability in its external sector and foreign exchange market.
