Three of a family stabbed in Dhaka’s Banani

Three members of a family were stabbed allegedly by their rivals over payment of debt money at Banani in the capital early Saturday.
The victims are Sumon Mia, 45, his wife Sonia, 38, and Sonia’s brother Russel, 40.
Jane Alam, sub-inspector (SI) of Banani Police Station, said one Arif and victim Sumon set to meet near Mohakhali Wireless Sishu Mela School at around 4:30AM.
Sumon, a resident of Mohakhali T&T colony, along with his wife and brother-in-law Russel went to the pre-decided place while Arif along with 7 to 8 people appeared there.
An altercation ensued between Arif and Sumon over payment of debt money.
At one stage, they beat Arif, Sonia and Russel up and stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving all the three injured.
Hearing their screams, local people rushed in and took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Police are trying to arrest the attackers, said SI Jane Alam.
