The US Embassy in Dhaka has issued an urgent warning to Bangladeshi and other foreign nationals, stating that the misuse of US government-funded public benefits could result in visa revocation and other serious legal consequences.

The information was disclosed in a notice published Saturday on the verified Facebook page of the US Embassy in Dhaka.

According to the embassy, foreign visitors who improperly use or become reliant on public assistance programmes funded by US taxpayers may face strict legal consequences under US immigration rules.

The embassy further emphasized that non-immigrant or temporary visa holders found engaging in such violations could have their current visas revoked immediately. In addition, they may be deemed permanently ineligible for future US visas.
