Initial registration for the 2027 Hajj will begin on July 27 and continue until September 24, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, following the roadmap announced by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Prospective pilgrims must complete their initial registration within the stipulated period. An initial deposit of Tk 350,000 is required through either the government or private Hajj management system. Before completing the initial registration, applicants must also complete pre-registration by depositing Tk 30,000.
Those who complete the initial registration must pay the remaining package cost and finalise their registration by December 10.
Pilgrims may register by creating an account on the government's e-Hajj portal (hajj.gov.bd). Registration services will also be available at Union Digital Centres, the Islamic Foundation's divisional and district offices, district and upazila model mosques, the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram office, and the Dhaka Hajj Office.
Applicants intending to perform Hajj under the government scheme must deposit the registration fee through a voucher at any Sonali Bank branch. Those travelling through private agencies must deposit the required amount into the designated bank account of their chosen agency. The relevant account information is available in each agency's profile on the Hajj portal.
The ministry said children below the age of 15 will not be eligible to perform Hajj.
It also said individuals suffering from chronic illnesses, including heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental disorders, dementia, or those undergoing chemotherapy, biological therapy or radiotherapy for cancer, will not be eligible. People with active infectious diseases that pose a public health risk, such as tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever, will also be barred from performing Hajj.
Female pilgrims in the final two months of pregnancy or those with high-risk pregnancies will not be issued the required fitness certificate.
During initial registration, applicants must choose their preferred district for training and vaccination, Hajj category and Hajj package. A passport valid until December 31, 2027 is also mandatory.
