841 students sit for HSC exams at Kaptai centre

KAPTAI, RANGAMATI, July 2: The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations began peacefully in Kaptai on Thursday, with a total of 841 students appearing at the upazila's lone examination centre at Karnaphuli Government Degree College.

Mohammad Siraj Uddin, acting principal of Karnaphuli Government Degree College and officer-in-charge of the examination centre, said candidates from the science, humanities and business studies streams were taking part in the examinations.

Of the total examinees, 171 are from Kaptai Naval School and College, 639 from Karnaphuli Government Degree College and 31 from Bilaichhari College, he said.

Siraj Uddin said the examinations are being conducted under a new monitoring system introduced by the Ministry of Education. CCTV cameras have been installed in every examination room, allowing authorities to monitor classrooms, corridors and the activities of invigilators in real time from the principal's office.
