3 of a family electrocuted to death in C'nawabganj

Three members of a family have died of electrocution in Chapainawabganj's Sadar upazila.

The incident took place at about 7AM at Badurtola area.

The dead were identified as Hasina Begum, 50; her niece Asha Khatun, 35; and Hasina's granddaughter Shahriyar Mim, 12, all from the same village.

Police and witnesses said Hasina climbed a metal ladder to tie leaves for the family's goats. The ladder had already become live, and she was electrocuted as soon as she touched it. Seeing her in danger, Asha and Mim rushed to help. They also came into contact with the electrified ladder and were electrocuted.
