Fruit saplings given to Rupganj students

RUPGANJ, NARAYANGANJ, July 3: The Birabo Pragati Samaj Kalyan Foundation has distributed fruit and forest tree saplings among the students and planted saplings on the local Haji Ahmed Ali High School ground in Rupganj Upazila of the district on Thursday.

UNO Md Saiful Islam was present as the chief guest and President of the Foundation Md Masum Mia chaired the event and the Foundation's Adviser and Kanchan Municipality Jubo Dal leader Sanaullah Mannan Sunny, Adviser Alhaj Golam Quddus, and former member secretary of Rupganj Upazila Chhatra Dal Md Masum Billah were present as special guests.

Also present at the event were the school's Head Teacher Md Rabiul Islam, Upazila Swechchhasebi Oikya Parishad General Secretary Sohel Rana, Organising Secretary Iftekhar Bhuiyan Ridin and others.

In his speech as the chief guest, UNO Saiful Islam said, “The contribution of trees in maintaining environmental balance is immense. Trees are constantly being cut down for the development of industry. Therefore, we are facing environmental disasters day by day. I call on everyone, along with social organisations, to plant at least one tree.”
